Cutscenes issues during the final two storyline instances

This is sort of a rant I now have after a bad experience that I had yesterday that still left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

First of all S-E. I love how you added the barrier at the start of instances/battles that allows people to peacefully watch their cutscenes before starting the clock and the fight. But I was wondering, why did you not add this as well for cutscenes during the instance itself. This off course doesn't pose a problem for 9 out of 10 of the instances.

However this becomes a problem during the final two storyline instances. To the people not that far in the storyline. You basically get a lot of cutscenes during the final two instances. Unfortunaly those can be skipped and the clock keeps ticking while you're watching them. Meaning that people can skip a cutscene and rush ahead while everyone else is still standing there watching their cutscenes. I hope you now see what I'm about to tell next.

- Party member A-B-C-D: "OMG! Skip the cutscenes already! They take 15 minutes! We have to hurry to complete this instance!!!"
- Me and other party members: "No! Let us enjoy the cutscenes. It's our first time doing this. At least let us get immersed in the storyline."
- Party members A-B-C-D rushes ahead while everone is still watching cutscenes.

In the last instance this lead to my party leader and the rest skipping the cutscene and fighting the boss fight ahead of me. Basically I got out of the cutscene and suddenly saw everone running, attacking, casting spells. It was like waking up in the middle of a warzone...

I was fortunate enough to have a great party for the before last instance. My fellow party members waited patiently for everyone to finish watching their cutscenes. And we talked, laughed and fooled around. And still beat it on our first try. With plenty of time left.

The last instance however, was when the above situation happened with me and the party. I enjoyed the entire storyline up to this point. Only to feel underwhelmed and dissapointed at the final instance due to my party wanting to rush through it. I could have left the party but they knew what they were doing and I didn't want to risk waiting for a long time to only end up with a bad group.

If you missed the scenes, maybe you can replay them at the inn? I know it's not really a fix, but yeah..

I noticed this happening on another mission in Coethras as well.. It suddenly said "you have 5 mins remaining" during the CS... and I was like.. What o.O

that was a solo battle too.


I'm not that far yet, but from what you're saying it sounds like a big problem :/ Looks like I'll do it with my FC to avoid the asshats.

Lol, I was expecting someone to say this. I know you can and even the party leader kept pointing it out. But I for one, hate skipping cutscenes when I'm doing a battle/instance for the first time. Especially for the last few instances where all kinds of things happen.

Skipping cutscenes lead into a situation of:

- cutscene -> skip -> "Oh I'm fighting him?"
- next cutscene -> skip -> "Holy! How did I suddenly end up fighting him???"
- another cutscene -> skip -> "Well this escalated quickly..."
- final cutscene -> skip -> "How did he become the final boss???"

See where I'm getting at... Especially for the final instance where it's a chain of 1 boss fight - long pause - chain 4 boss fights with only cutscenes splitting them up. I had no clue in the end why the final boss decided to butt in the end because I had to skip it...

I also should mention that we ended the final instance with 30-40 minutes left. That's with me occasionally still watching a cutscene and a few wipes during boss fights. Basically there's plenty of time to watch cutscenes, wipe a few times and still beat the instance.

Yeah, that's true. I know that skipping the cutscene first time will pretty leave you clueless on what was going on. I usually don't like skipping it myself and normally watch them till it has ended. Guess being a tank (and healer) has its privilege here lol.

I agree though, people should not really rush it.
