Hi all,
I'm gonna buy a PS3 with a copy of ff14arr for my mom.
The specs say: Required Hard Drive Space 12GB minimum
Will a PS3 with a 12 GB drive be sufficient in the long run?
Just for ff14arr i mean.

Honestly I'm not sure why they are releasing that 12gb model. Anyway you will most likely need more space in the long run - especially for patches and the like.
With the PS3 though it is easy enough to swap in a standard laptop 2.5 inch hard drive, which I would suggest doing.
AFAIK the game download/installation is 6.5GB. So unless she'll ever only play FFXIV:ARR primarily, it should be fine. Things to consider in near future should you add a HDD (with optional HDD caddy) you may need to reinstall/move the content over from 12GB Flash to HDD.
No, overtime there will be patches and expansions added.
The 12gb may not be enough.
You can buy a new hard drive and install it yourself later on but its probably better just to get a PS3 with a larger drive.
Was thinking that myself... just wanted to be sure.
Thx all :)
I'd just buy the 500GB model for what it will cost to buy a new HDD for rubbish 12GB model
Wel i have a new 500 gb 2,5 inch sata drive laying around. and the hdd caddy is only 13 euro :)
dude, do not buy ps3! Ps4 is coming to town in December ( well in my country)!
It will here also.
But i am not willing to spend that much cash just to let my mom play ff14 on her tv :)
From the german Amazon website: "The requirement to install the game outmatches the 12GB model HDD capacity."
