Hey all, I was wondering when I am able to pick up a second job? (Such as becoming a weaver or goldsmith.) NPCs keep saying I need to complete a level 10 quest but I'm unsure of what that is or what it means? Would someone mind explaining it to me?

Sure... when you hit level 10 with your first class, you'll unlock a specific level 10 quest at your class's guild headquarters. Complete that and you unlock the ability to talk to other guildmasters to learn other classes.
Once i choose to "add" a second job such as a alchemist lets say, will i still be my main class in this case a CNJ. am i allowed to be both at the same time?
and what do you think the best secondary guild should be for a CNJ?
You can pick up all other classes without affecting whatever you want to be your primary class in any negative way. Also, not only are they free to pick up, they actually give you a smidge of XP and gil.
When you join the guild they will give you your first (level 1) weapon (main hand) for that guild. Upon equiping that item it will change your class to whatever the item relates to. Wand - Thaumaturge, Bow - Archer, Spell Book - Arcanist, etc. You also will become a level 1 in that class. Now as you do things in the game you will be gaining experience for that class. Upon switching back over to your main, you pick back up where you left off.
You can technically become max level in all classes (including crafting), if you are determined enough. You "main class" is just whatever you choose to be your main at the time. You are only "locked in" to that class when you start the game until level 10.
Best thing about this game, nothing is permanent (except for your Race, Name, God choice, Server, basically everything you picked at the character creation, except you class). Even then, most of those will be able to be changed either through a paid service (server transfers, character renames), or the soon to be released barbershop.
Thanks for your answers guys! This was all very helpful!
Yes that's great, answered all the questions I had in my head too!
