Bard really?

Ok, short and sweet.. Likely already been said but mine as well...

Archer is cool DPS got it...
Bard... Has no healing spell's
Bard... Has songs but we must Stand RIGHT by people 1 song at a time.. Songs in which don't buff the BRD.
Bard... Has a HEALING Limit Break... SE what one is it? healing or DPS?
Bard... Males int he AF.. in High Heels come on can we make it JUST a dad more unisex here.. Tights got it roger.. but heels..

I'm just saying can we pick which way bard is going to go DMG or BUFF's or Heals~ and focus that direction seems very lacked.. as in the responsibility/role of Bard. with Buffs but its meh with buffs we dont heal at all so Limit break being healing I don't get and.. dps Ok if that's the case Can we look the role? maybe some DPS songs other then TP.

its a support class obviously, thats why its a healing limit break. bard is not a healer so no healing skill but you can level con to get cure.

Vastly inferior to FFXI bard, but I think that type of support would not appeal to XIV players. Maybe the good old days of BRD/NIN tanking will be reborn in this realm someday, though!

Sure, a support class with no healing skills nor buffs other than "regen tp" and "regen mp" in a game where everyone hardly run out of mp or tp...

I definitely feel that there Limit Break should be switched to a DPS one. I like that the class is a main DPS with a support side to it, gives the player at least some responsibility/alternative other than pure damage.

That being said, SCH is now an even better support class so move aside Bards!

You may be completely justified, I haven't seen many BRDs in my 2.0 parties, but in 1.0 they were how you described, and they were good to have around. BRDs can deliver the killing blow in a near wipe, they could Raise in a bind (I'm assuming they still can). They were good for getting chests in dungeons, flipping switches, etc. I think you have to enjoy being flexible, instead of playing it expecting to be some he-man of healing or duke of damage.

What is it supporting? And with what? the 2 Bard Songs? It's not supporting anything.

You can't have whm as a sub any more so no heals to use as support for tight situations and no raise for back up raises, as for dps your not on the same level as the rest of the DPS said classes int he game, I also play bard as a main but not to.. Pull levers and switches and pick up chests..

Raise - um ... no. We can't tap into the cnj/whm skill bar anymore. So no cure, no protect, no stoneskin, no raise
We can tap into the lancer and pugilist ones though, so there will be more dps - so more Ranger like than bard.
Range of songs was pretty big in phase 3, but the mana drain was too much. Haven't really played the job in group much, so I can't say if that has changed.
Basically, the 1.23 BRD is totally gone.

The BRD songs does help the party... somewhat. Though I can't tell when to cast Army's Paeon since I can't tell how much TP other party members have. Healers LOVE Mage's Ballad. I'm sure Foe's Requiem is useful, somewhat, though I don't like using it because it attracts every mob from all corners of the globe.

I agree and like dude said up top, most of the time MP and TP are FULL and you don't even need them, And with a MP refresh song I lose MP faster then I can give it.
