Terrible server lag

I have been playing since beta and early access and haven't had a single problem with the game however at about half 7 tonight it suddenly became unplayable. There is a terrible lag of about 1-2 mins when clicking on an NPC or aetheryte and other players keep disappearing and reappearing. When I can see them they are running and stopping for about 1-2 seconds then carrying on. Is anyone else having this problem as I can't see anything recent on the forums or by googling? I have tried relogging several times and still same problem.

I'm having the same problem on Shiva. Relogging does not help for me.
Am on BT and in London, don't know if it's london's crappy internet service that is doing the game in or the extra hops it would have to take to reach canada.
