Have they set us up to spend money transferring our characters?

Me, my friends and family had the intention of playing this game together. But only 30% of us have been able to get onto the server we planned on moving to. Because we heard that it's possible later on to transfer your characters, we didn't mind playing the game in different servers for the time being. We just wanted to enjoy the game.

But now that I think about, it is probably the situation for quite a lot of people. We all paid for the game, and a couple of us are legacy. We all have jobs, so we try and fit in the game when we can... it just can't be the other way around. Otherwise, we really can't enjoy the game.

I would like free character transfer the first time round for players, because I believe I am not the only one who has been separated by friends in this launch. I don't think anyone is particularly intending maliciously on setting us up to pay for transfer. However, I have been around enough business men to understand how they think with money.

My thoughts? Try again next week when the servers have increased capacity. One week is a drop in the bucket in terms of progress in the grand scheme of things. It may take months for SE to open up server transfers. If your friends are new, the better option would probably be to reroll once they can create a char on your server.

Yea Hopefully 1 free transfer once new servers are opened etc. It would look bad not to give a free transfer considering the problematic early access and official launch :)

The problem with a free server transfer is how long that could take to happen. If it takes months, they may lose interest before SE gives anyone the option, because they came to play with friends and can't. I say reroll, while little progress has been made by all involved. You could even create an alt to level with them so that your main doesn't pass them up too much while they catch back up.

This usually always happens when a game first comes out. Usually within a week or so it is fixed and the servers open once everything balances out. At this point it's either patience and wait or pay and server transfer in a few weeks.

Server transfers are going to be an option in 2-3 weeks.

I think server transfer are a necessity at this point. People cannot create characters on many servers. Legacy servers were supposed to be a lot less popular, even they are getting new people like crazy.

All this drama is creating a good amount of word of mouth and publicity, currently its a bit negative. If they give more servers and server transfers. That will change the narrative into "good guy SE". If not, it won't change the narrative and MANY people will have this bitter taste in their mouths for awhile. /shrug

Someone needs to stop using "it happens all the time in MMO launches" at some point.

They are only less popular with the anti-legacy trolls. I've seen a pretty big influx of new players. It makes me happy to see so many fresh faces.

Havin trouble gettin on sargantas at any time so id say legacy servers or atleast mine is pretty popular

Good news is it looks like we are getting more servers and better login servers early next week. I'm also hoping that we get an option for a free server transfer just so the population can spread out a little bit more.
