Game crashing after every time I click 'Log In'

I was just doing some story quests, and after completing one around the Lv. 20 area (cannot remember the name of it i'm afraid), the game crashed and told me that 'FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working'. Now whenever I try to log in, as soon as I click 'Log in with <character name>/ it loads a little bit, freezes, and then comes up with the error again. It keeps on doing this. I have tried restarting my computer, changing from border less windowed, to windowed, to full screen - and still have had no luck. I don't particularly want to re install my game and I honestly doubt it will make any difference.
