Something Else for Archers as well

Having a look at the Disciples of War options for a possible secondary character, I've always like the idea of archers in fantasy settings, especially ones like FF where the bow designs can be totally over the top. :)

However I'm a little disappointed that the only option for the Archer is to become a Bard, who really wants to be a Bard?

Tell you what I would like to see, something like the D&D 3.0/3.5 Arcane Archer prestige class, that combines magic with archery to make a deadly ranged fighter.
