GAME UK Preorder cancel?

Hi guys, out of curiousity, did anyone else preorder from GAME, then suddenly have their preorder canceled by the company without being told?
Just baught it again from amazon. Probably should have known something was wrong when they didnt give me my receipt. Emailed them at the time and they said everything was fine.
Just curious if anyone else was shafted by them, their old tricks seem to be resurfacing of being bad at preorders.

a friend had their game preorder randomly cancelled, but he recieved an email saying he'd requested it, which was bunk, by the time their support staff had sorted it, his reserve copy was no longer available.

I really don't know if I'm wrong but if you bought the Digital download is because of this :

nope, was a physical CE

GAME haven't been the most reliable with preorders...ever.
Though thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt since Amazon was getting a touch of bad press not long ago about not having enough numbers for the items.
GAME did have an issue with the last CE I got from them too though, that was the 13-2 CE, almost everyone I know had to wait an extra week to get the bonus metal case lol, was awful!
Either way, was just curious whether they just had it in for me or not, so it's actually nice knowing I wasn't the only one to get shafted.
Though it's still horrible that I never got any form of email from them with confirmation or cancellation.
Was sat infront of my front door, staring out the letter box at my postman yesterday, freaked him out a touch. Was so excited, but it never came. Checked today and it said canceled :( BAH humbug!

Mine got cancelled and I wasn't informed about it until it was already given out so I wasn't too happy about that and will most likely not shop with them again. I had it on pre order from somewhere else but that got cancelled too due to the supplier not giving them any. Eventually decided to just upgrade to the Digital Collectors.

Yikes! Two places :S I'm a little scared that amazon will do that too now, but I'm really hoping not since it's next day delivery.
But I'm with you on that, I don't think I'm going near GAME again.
And will never ever use Zavvi. A friend used them for this CE but they charged him £10 more than everywhere else! D:

How is GAME still in business? When Diablo 3 came out didn't everyone's preorder get canceled and then not get their money back? Or was that AU?

Someone saved them from the brink of extinction...probably most unfortunate, but I think without them, the streets would be pretty boring with it being more or less the only place to buy games on the high street now a days. Even then, everything in there is over priced rubbish! The one I sometimes visit is so empty, that the poor guy behind the counter gives you these "please don't leave QnQ I'm so lonely!!!!!" expression when ever you go in. That glimmer of hope for human interaction :S
Heard they closed down like 70% of their stores not long ago, not sure if that's true though since the one I visit sometimes (when desperate) was supposed to close down, and I'm still waiting with my party poppers...

Wonder why SE chose to go with them and Zavvi...Heck, now that I think about it, asides from those and Amazon, do we even HAVE any other retailers?!

I never bothered with D3, so not sure. Might have been AU though as I don't recall hearing anyone screaming bloody murder over it :S

Also, I have been led to believe that gamestation bought game, and then called themselves game, for some strange reason.
