Usage of GMT for maintenance times incorrect

Just saw this in game:
"From 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Aug. 28 (PDT) / Aug. 28 8:00 to 11:00 (GMT)"

and on the loadstone:
"[Date & Time]
Aug. 28, 2013 from 08:00 to 11:00 (GMT)
* The completion time may be subject to change."

This is the second maintenance the times have been wrong so that's why I'm writing this now. :p

The time (right now) is 06:17 GMT, but the maintenance is starting in 45 minutes (same as last time, the 12am PDT time is right).

GMT never changes, the clocks don't go forwards/backwards. That time is showing BST/CET/IST or the annoyingly 4 letter WEST.

i think you got your time wrong. According to my clocks it is 23:xx in PDT and 7:xx in London (GMT) at the moment.

Yes, it' 7am in london....but that's not GMT! Google this: time gmt

EDIT: the reason I say Google it is Google will show you the current time at the stop of the search results.

London isn't on GMT at the moment though, we're using British Summer Time (BST) so we (London) are currently GMT+1

Thanks for that. I will need to find a way to add GMT/UTC into my phone clocks.

It's amazing how many people confuse the two - regardless of if they live in the UK or not!

What's worse is, you can end up in a debate for several minutes with someone as to what it means....or you could until googleing "time gmt" won the debate for you (provided it was summer time)!

exactly this we are GMT+1 so it will be 12 before we can play

Except the servers went down at 8am BST (7GMT), so it's 11am when we can play, for the UK, the times are right, but the confusion is the use of GMT, which would imply 12 o'clock.

Servers went down at 12:00am PST. 3 hour patch. Figure it out from that. They have fucked everything else up... why do you think they would get simple math right? lol

P.S. I guess thats not fair on my part to say that. I couldn't do it without google either lmao. I'm in the US under CST time so I know anything PST is +2 hours here. Sorry! SE I forgive you for this one.

This isn't math, this is a long-standing confusion the majority of the world has with GMT, one of the many reasons people tend to use UTC now when trying to co-ordinate a world time event, no country is ever "on UTC", unlike the UK that, during winter, is "on GMT".

FYI: UTC = true GMT.
