I would love to see some cool dungeons in FF.
Don’t get me wrong, the graphics are well done but the designs pretty generic.
The mines for example, the look is very predictable… there is absolutely nothing jaw dropping about the design.
In FF I would expect mines where I see huge glowing crystals pocking out of the walls, ores, gas clouds coming out of some cracks, sand and stones falling down randomly, waterdrops, flickering lights, mushrooms, more color variations and so on and so on
Even the placement of mobs is very predictable… In copperbell mines you will find Sordes and bombs located at very similar spots like the Cellar puks and bombs in nanawa mines
Gridania dungeons are no better, the look is very generic., just like everyone would expect a dungeon to look like, brick walls and more brick walls.

Let’s post some ideas for new dungeons and locations!


- Graveyard
Spooky graveyard with a low layer of fog hugging the Thumb stones… At night various undead and bats will spawn. Creepy mysterious music or spooky ambient sound.

- Dark Forest
Nothing like gridania! A dark forest with lots and lots of trees covering the ground, casting shadows everywhere. The sunlight hardly reaches the ground there.
The ground is covered with mushrooms and at night you would see the glow flies everywhere.
Somewhere in this forest is a small lake with big glowing crystals on the ground.

- Labyrith
Gigantic labyrinth complex. You start with a empty map and explore the colossal dungeon.
The labyrinth is partially underground but also open-air. Lots of plants are climbing the massive stone walls, here and there the old collapsed walls are fixed with wooden panels. The deeper you progress the foggier and spookier it gets. Skeletons are hanging on the walls… skulls on the ground.Lots of undead, wolves and goblins…
Mysterious eary music…

- Snow mountain
A huge mountain forest covered with snow. As you walk you hear the cracking of snow under your feet and footsteps. Snow is falling from the trees here and there. Some old wooden houses here and there, some caves… Wolves and bears are roaming the forests, undead lurking in the caves.

- Frozen lake - Drill station
A huge giant lake, covered with a thick layer of ice. As you walk on the eyes you hear the sound of stepping on snow and the cracking of ice. Randomly you see the eyes crack under your feet.
In the middle of the sea is a abandoned steam punk drill station and a couple huts. There are a lot of snow storms…

- Mushroom Forest
A forest made of giant mushrooms, some look slimy and are oozing some gooish fluids. The ground is covered with moss and various mushrooms (lots of red mushrooms with white dots)
Here and there you see wooden houses build in the large mushrooms, this forest is occupied by some beast men.

- Moons Tears
The legend says that every year, the moon will shed a tear and where the tear falls on earth it will turn into stone. Thousands of years has passed and at the place where all the tears felt a tower formed.
A huge tower made of a mysterious stone, partially reflective, partially glowing. The tower seems almost endlessly high, as you advance; floor after floor you at some point start to see clouds outside. Each floor contains a couple chambers and endless stairs spirals circling each floor.
It is hard to say if this tower is manmade.
No one ever reached the top because the mobs get tougher and tougher and even the strongest party will get annihilated sooner or later.

- Claw rocks
This place is filled with large sharp claw-like rocks coming out of the earth; they look like they try to scratch the heaven. The ground is covered with moss and water. Swamps everywhere…
You hear the wet earth sucking at your feet with every step
Between some rocks you see giant spider webs and cocoons
This area is fill of spiders snakes and some toads.

OOOO I really like the Labyrinth idea :). Also, what about a giant fortress dug into a mountain. Example, you only see half the outside of the castle, the rest of the inside is actually in the mountain. you could have maybe paths both inside and out, leading to the top/other side.
