What's the point of the 4/8 person party buffs?

What are the point of these buffs? I'm not really understanding them, does this mean we'll never get actual buffer classes in this game? Sigh if so, I really loved bard and playing it. If it doesn't mean that, then why is it being added? Just something fun and cool? Or a real meaning?

Probably to encourage players to party more?

The point is simple: to encourage people to group up.

I kinda thought the idea for the buff's was that it was to buff small parties if you have 8 people then you don't really need these buffs do you?

You get a 5% buff from 4-7 players and a 10% buff for 8 players.

I'm sorry that your already soloable/duoable Notorious Monsters that drop junk are going to remain easy to kill. Says nothing about the future direction of the game, however. Especially when we're undergoing battle, party and job changes, and there isn't any content that has been made with these new systems in mind yet.

Yeah I assumed it was going to make the 5 man parties give a bigger buff than the 8 man parties, but the 8 man parties buff is bigger? o_O; I don't get it at all. And how does this encourage you to group more? The game is already easy enough, now it's even easier? @_@; I'm really confused at this change.

It's not in place to encourage grouping.

It's in place to make it harder for groups with <4 members to do content designed for 4-7 people, and to make content designed for 8 people harder to do with <8 people. This way they can design better content for specific group sizes: 1-3, 4-7, 8.
