ARR Physical CE items on a 1.0 account?

I was able to obtain pre-order items on my 1.0 account from buying the physical CE, but I wasn't able to redeem the code for my CE items, it says invalid code when trying to enter it to the mog station. I've seen a couple posts with the ridiculous claim that I have to buy a digital CE now, even though I just payed 84$ for the Physical one..? This can't be right. Is anyone else having this problem? I'd like a mod response on this if possible.

Here is another topic on this issue that was posted on the technical support forums, just trying to get the word spread on this in GD..

If you had the 1.0 CE, you get the 2.0 CE items without having to register the CE code. They arrive in your in-game mail without any extra effort.

I had the standard version of 1.0, but bought the collector's edition of 2.0, and cannot find a way to receive the items.

It was stated many many times that if you have a standard 1.0 account, buying a physical collector's edition will NOT allow you to apply it to your existing account to receive in-game items. Dev's said that if you have existing standard/legacy 1.0, you need to buy digital upgrade.

I'd love to know where that was posted aside from here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1013237 (9 posts in on a topic a Letter from the Producer) and apparently in that letter itself. I never saw anything on the site, never received an e-mail about it and was certainly never warned when I pre-ordered my copy of PC Collector's Edition back in May.

If SE expected me to watch every Letter from the Producer or read every forum post to get this information, I sure would have loved to know about it.

The only place I know it was posted was on the beta forums, in a huuuuuuge thread all about purchasing the game. I suppose those from 1.0 who didn't participate in beta are SOL though.

So you're backing up that the only place this information was made known was in topics in the forums, not even ones that had any kind of topic title like "FF XIV: ARR - New editions and existing accounts", just posts buried in threads with dozens, if not hundreds, of replies. But your first post is indicating that people like me are screwed because we don't check the forums all the time?

And if there was a topic like that in the Beta forums (I don't remember seeing one), posting it there does nothing for the 1.0 people who may not have participated in the Beta.

I read the beta forums every now and then, but never saw anything of the sort. Of course I wouldn't have bought an 80$ paperweight if I knew.. I think they should allow us to redeem the items anyway. It just seems like bad business to me.
