2. What's the point of them both?
Crafting is where you make items like gear and food. Gathering is basically going around the world collecting items from certain locations for crafters.
whats the point of doing all that haha?
The point is you can make gear/items/consumables for your character to use, or you can sell the items for gil. It's not required, if you don't like it then pretend it's not there
