Seems like a funny joke (at the player's, ahem "customer's" expense) to limit character creation on the server, then deny the ability to login.
Took some rec leave to play FFXIV and cannot even login to play an existing character.
Even got the tease of being 33rd in the wait queue then hit with "Error 1017" and ejected.
SE: Did you want us to play and be interested in the game or just cut corners massively on hardware specs and think it will be alright ?
