Video Card keeps Crashing

I've been having this issue where I'm in game and suddenly my screen goes black and comes back on. This happens randomly and it's only been happening for this game. However, when the screen comes back, my FPS goes down to 11 from its previous 60.

I have no idea what is causing this, but it'd be great if I got some advice as to how to fix/prevent it.

My computer is pretty well-built, IMO, but here are my specs just to be sure:

Body: Dell XPS
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz
Memory: 12GB RAM

Also, not sure if this matters, but on my benchmark I got 9.8k as my score on maximum settings.

This usually is caused by your graphics card driver failing. If you can, check your Event Viewer for errors. What graphics driver are you running? Are you attempting to overclock your video card?

This used to happen to me exactly as you describe it (although I have GTX660 non-Ti) when I unlocked the video card's BIOS to tweak it for overclocking. Once I restored to the vanilla BIOS, that stopped happening and game runs fine (maximum at 1080p). Have you done something similar?
