How do people have Mounts at level 9?!

Just recently I saw 2 guys together in Ul'Dah riding Coeurl Mounts and they were both no higher than level 9... and here's me at level 27 and only just got to the point where I can join a Grand Company.

Just... what?

I know you get one with the CE, but is it not also possible they are leveling their second class on that char? as it would be a bit evil to take the mounts away when you change class.

once you are able to unlock mount with one class you can mount with any class starting @ lvl.1

If you're not on a legacy server it's certainly a second job. You can't even do the quest for grand companies without being level 20.

As Belimawr was saying, these people are possibly on their # class leveling. I don't think there is a level requirement to ride the mounts.

Legacy players have no life these things happen. I have a job in college and a gf so I'm still at low levels

most likely people leveling there 2nd or 3rd class, you get a chocobo when you join a gran company and take the quest and get the Insurance for one (costs 2k seals). your normal about lv 21-23 at that time, some people got to level 20-25 in 1 day in Early acsess

there is no level requirement to ride a mount that you own.
Once you unlock the chocobo license from a Grand Company, you can change to any level class and still be able to use the mount.

Yea I've got a Coeurl Mount but obviously until I get the Mount pass I can't use it, also I would've thought using the mounts would've been the same as like when you change to a lower class and you can't where higher class stuff until you change to a higher class again.

Unlike spells and abilities, mounts do not have a level restriction.
