Registration Issues
So.
I was a 1.0 member. Had the service in my account.
Bought a pre-order CE (Windows) through the SE Online shop.
Aug 26, Mog Station says I've got a Standard edition. Fine, because I haven't been issued my code yet. (BTW, Square Store: Offering Early Access and then not sending the codes out until Launch day? Not smart.)
Aug 27: Received an email from the store with 2 codes in it. One is a 5-segment 20 character code. One is a 4-segment (6-3-6-3) 18 character code.
Following instructions in the email given to me by the store, go to register the 18 character code at the preorder site. Site accepts the code, spits out a different 5-segment, 20 character code, and procedes to direct me to the code redemption page for THAT.
THAT page, when given the 20 character code, tells me my code is not for my own region and is therefore unusable.
Attempting to put the other 20 character code in (from the email) is rejected as invalid.
So.... what undocumented step have I missed here, Square?

So... contacted SE support.
Their automated response email (which arrived a day after i sent the ticket in) promised support within 2 business days.
That was 4 business days ago.
Still waiting. Not purchasing a subscription for the game at this rate :/

I believe some players were accidentally being issued codes for the wrong region - something about the 4th digit of the 4-4-4-4-4 code being A versus E. Be sure you're on the correct version of the site according to your region and attempt to redeem it again? You might get another code, perhaps even a correct one!
-
The 4th digit of my redeemed code was an E... so the site is trying to tell me my account has a JP region or ???
EDIT: Nope, my account information declares my account is in "The Americas".... hmm....
-
E meant Europe if I recall - have you tried going back to both redemption pages and re-entering your 18-digit and 20-digit codes (being sure to set your region correctly if it isn't done so)?
-
preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com spits out a code with an E in the 4th digit, while logged in to my account in the Americas, with language US English....unless there's something i'm missing, i'm pretty sure my region is correct?
Could it be that Digital River has issued me an EU product despite being in NA?

That's confusing and unfortunate - like a lot of this launch. Perhaps it was confirmation bias :/
