Digital collectors edition activation code wrong region

I could not register my activation code as my account is American and the code is from EU. It’s the digital collector’s edition of the game, purchased from GMG. I wonder if Square would be willing to exchange the code to a US version?

Or if someone has a similar issue (but with European account and US collectors edition code), please let me know at psmollinen@hotmail.com
