Thoughts on Guild Leves, and Ideas.

I'm sorry if this has been said exactly in this way, I looked, but I figured I’d post this… if it’s been said it will probably be ignored anyway, heehee. But I love to do leves, and I do have a lot of fun doing them when they reset… but I find myself conflicted at times due to how they are currently set up.

I love ranking up my Botany.
I love ranking up my Archer.

But at this time Players that have a love for both have to split their time or their leves between the two since Battle Leves and Field Leves are on the same basis. SE said that all of the classes are important, and that all are equally important. With this new update, and gathering classes becoming more important I would like to see them reorganize the leve set up to make Gathering its own leve area.

At the moment it is set up is:
Battle/Field = 8 Leves
Crafting = 8 Leves

It would be nice if they made it to where every 36 hours:
Battle = 8 Leves
Field = 8 Leves
Crafting = 8 Leves

Also when it comes to crafting leves, I wish they would also implement having Guild Marks listed on them as well. At the moment DoW, DoM and Gatherers can see what leves will give Marks and which ones won’t. The Crafters have to just take a chance and hope that the leve will give marks. It’s gotten to the point that some of my DoW’s have so many marks I don’t even need them all, while I have crafting classes in the 30ties that might only have one book due to the lack of marks I have received.

Since all of the classes are supposed to be considered equal, and that each area of the classes is considered equally important, I wish to see the leves treated as equal as well.

I'm in complete support of splitting battle leves from gathering leves :D

This is over all a fantastic idea. It will allow more cross class play, which fits into the design of FFXIV. Its would also encourage crafting with measurable reward. Having measurable reward is the key to feeling successful upon accomplishing something. It gives the player something to work toward instead of a random, "oh by the way you can have some Guild Marks now."

You could almost go a step further and separate all guildleves into different types, giving each of them a maximum per 36 hours. Faction, Battle, the works.

Well, 8 DoL leves per reset would probably be too many. There are only 3 DoL jobs, and 2 level-appropriate leves per city. If you got 8 per reset, you'd be able to run every available DoL leve in a city, and still have two more to do. Maybe offer 3 leves per reset? That way to can do one for each job.

Very true there are only 3 gathering classes... but my main DoW I do in Archer and so I can do 8 leves for Battle and use all 8 on my Archer to get max points if I choose. I can also do all 8 of my leves for crafting all for Alchemist going to all 3 cities to get as many high level Alchemy leves that I can if I choose.

Why can't I do 8 for my Botanist if I'm focusing on Botany? I don't think it should matter that there are only 3 gathering classes. What if someone is leveling all 3? They would only get one leve per class every reset?

Thats why I suggested it should be equal, 8 for every class type: Battle, Crafting and Gathering.

But I can see your point as well. :)
