Can I delay the start of my free month by not registering my product code?

Greetings!

So after a weekend of not being able to play in Early Access (which is time that won't be reimbursed since it's considered a "free bonus"), I'm certain launch is going to fail horribly tomorrow.

Now from what I understand, yet another key will be sent out that we use to register the full release version of the game so we can play tomorrow, the 27th.

Can I just hold onto that key for the next couple of weeks, and start my free month from that point? I see no reason to start my first free month when I won't be able to play from failed servers for the first week (or two!).

I think 2 weeks might be enough time for their errand boy to pick up enough hand-me-down Dell servers off Craigs list (*image of throwing a $20 2005 server onto pile in back of pick-up, Final Fantasy Victory music plays*).

What I'm worried about though, is that the free month will start tomorrow whether I want it to or not, and that would greatly annoy me.

Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I have no clue. Personally they should just allow us to choose-would allow players to pick when they can play. And give some time for Enix to fix stuff up. Though this probably is not the case and you just gotta "Grin and Bare With It", as it probably will start tomorrow.

If the billing for this is anything like FFXI, your free 30 days starts from the moment that you actually register the code. I believe that once that 30 days is up, your billing starts from that point and you pay the monthly fee you set up and your billing date will be every 30 days from that point.



Edit: I think it was mentioned that you will not be required to enter your real code until a bit later. (Couple days maybe?)

The 30 days start from when you register the code so if you decide you want to register it September 27, you'll get 30 days free from there. Otherwise, people who buy the game 2 months later but have new accounts wouldn't be able to get the 30 days free trial if it started automatically on August 27th. You just won't be able to play the game (obviously).

It just adds to the end of your EA time.
