Grand Companies Question

Hello! Not super new to the game...but new at the same time. But in 1.0, I didn't make it far enough to join a GC.

I feel a little uh...vain to say the least, but I like the jacket from Ul'dah the best, but my actual loyalties have always been to Gridania.

So I wanted to ask, is there any significant meaning to which GC you choose? What should I base my decision on? ... Or is going the "which looks more fashionable" route perfectly acceptable?

Cant's say really but as far as I was able to see in beta there seems to be no major differences apart of the look and location indeed. I like the Gridania's most too.
