Un-Ruining the MMO genre

I've seen a lot of posts in general about how people are upset that 2.0 has been simplified in one aspect or another. The video above explains clearly why the MMO genre is in its current state of redundancy. It may put into perspective why Yoshi P. and the dev team decided to take FFXIV into its current direction.
Ultimately the "theme park" style mmo is not for everyone, but it satisfies the greatest amount of people. You either decide to play it or not.

This video was posted (and promptly shot down by people with different views) several times on the beta forums. I, myself think, that there's some truth to what he's saying, and that fundemental change in the genre is required, to break out of the monotony we're experiencing here.
It's good, that the vid's getting posted on these new forums. :)
