It would be great if alchemists are given significant recipes in the proposed system. The creation of materia from DoL raw materials would be one thing, but how about allowing alchemists to desynth existing gear into materia or raw materials for it. Akin to runebreaking by runecrafters in western MMO's. :cool:
By the sounds of it the making of materia could actualy be a craft unto itself, so who knows
if not, it definately sounds like an alchemy thing
I would assume inlaying the "Materia" would be craft specific for the gear.. Alchemy would be logical for refining it though.
Yah I didn't sense anything in the post that would lead me to think of desynthing...
But I can see the gatherers getting the raw materia (dye moss/bugs) and the alchemists turn those into various materia that crafters can use in their synths to enhance the gear in one way or another.
Probably crafters should be needed to remove/inlay a materia into equipment.
I imagine something like this:
A disciple of war and magic has an alchemist create a materia for him. He finds an equipment crafter that inlays the materia into a piece of equipment. For a while, he lets the materia grow in that piece of equipment. After that, he finds a crafter that removes the materia from his piece of equipment and inlays it into a different piece of equipment. He lets it grow for a while.... and so on.
Hope its an own materia class, this way we arent unbalanced so people high have to relevel too to get it. This way low levels can earn some money to :)
