Lets ask a question that no one has asked.

So I been reading these post and I am sitting here wondering why? Going back to the FFXI days if there was maintenance all servers were pulled down or the odd one for a world recovery but for the japan servers to be running fine and the NA/EU to be constantly down for fixes why did SE split the servers like this?

I mean doesn't it make more sense to have the server housed where people who know how to actually fix them be but instead ours are housed in Canada where the lvl 5 tech has to call in and speak with a translator because the server were programmed in Japan most likely?

I mean I get why you decided to split them to reduce latency but really shouldn't you of house some servers in EU as well somewhere? But this just feels like you decided to rush the final beta test figuring lets just copy paste the data from the JP servers to the NA/EU and said ok done, without doing some basic math here NA + EU = more than JP population what did you think would happen SE? Look at the total mess up of the phase 4 beta did you not consider well damn we lost about 70% of our test due to 3102 error are you seriously telling me that the extra 6 hours you add which hardly anyone knew about would be enough?

Now then for my next why, forums have always and I mean always been broken they are slow or they get slammed so hard they go down faster than a ______ on sunday night why haven't they added a better server? I mean really come on SE your forum server been broken since FFXI don't you think you should fix it?

Now I really like 2.0 but really SE need to at least do a little something to make it up to the NA/EU rather than the standard copy paste Junk we get how bout adding the early access days as additional free trial days instead so 1.0 players get 17 days free or hell how bout a in game t shirts that read 3102 survivor anything to show yes we hear you and here you go here's a cookie for putting up with our mistakes.

Now if you do those two things SE getting the forums working at a decent speed and acknowledge the upset with just a little something am sure more people be happy but right now you do not want the bad press am sure you had enough of the 1.0 taste in your mouth right.

Not that anyone but SE knows what is actually going on... but... here's my $0.02

I don't think it's a population balance issue. NA/EU cannot have more players than JP side. Have you seen how much they advertised in Japan? I have never seen a TV Spot/Ad on a website about FFXIV on any sites that I normally visit, and most of my friends who played 1.0 had zero idea that they were even remaking it.

I think something happened with hardware, that's about it. Something to do with an old man and a chest of ivory, holding the keys to a gauntlet of blood gems. He forgot to bring stat food and is wiping his group over and over for the last two days.

That's just my opinion :)
