How to make quest battles fun

So far I've been pretty disappointed with how utterly menial quest battles have been (e.g. being able to go afk to take a shower, get dressed, etc. while an instanced boss enemy was attacking me and come back 15 minutes later to finish it off). In an effort to get some enjoyment out of them, I've decided to start doing them butt naked (save for my trusty eye-patch, of course). While it doesn't magically add good design to the game's encounters, it can make it possible to lose even in fights where your object isn't to save a NPC.

I have to say, as naked, I did get some enjoyment out of the lv. 25 and lv. 30 class quests of Marauder and the lv. 20 class quest of Gladiator. I actually died twice on the latter and had to strategize a little (don't forget you can cancel the echo buff like any other status effect). The rest of the quests, including the former-milestone lv. 15 main scenario quest, were a little bit harder to save.

Looking at these I can't help but think "TRUE Final Fantasy experience."

nah, what I would say is to do them with Event clothing, they make you look good while you are doing them like a boss ;)

This game is so easy, it bores me to tears. I understand that players nowadays don't wont a learning curve that strangles them but this is ridiculous.
Alot of players won't actually see the harder content they are longing for because they'll probably quit beforehand.
I have a 50 from v1.0 but I didn't want to steam roll through the story just to get to the end. That's not the reason I play. But with these boring battles, I'm tempted.

I tried out the first three dungeons and I have some hope. But then again, I'm lvl 19 now and it's still boring. That's almost 50% till lvl cap. 50% of boring battles.

And what if I decide to level another class? Want me to do leves/etc all the time? With push-over mobs? The mere thought already shudders me. lol

Give your customers more credit, SE.
Give them a 10 level tutorial if you must, but stop this boredom dragging on more than it has to. The infamous lvl 15 fight is a prime example of what I'm talking about.

Start from level one maybe it won't be easy lol.
