A solution to Error 1017 (Maybe)

I know this has been posted around in a few spots randomly, but I thought I'd make a more official post for anyone who isn't in the mood to be trolling through post after post of complaining to find nuggets of useful information.

A somewhat good solution(?) to Error 1017 is if you possess a macro program, or macro keyboard, such as a BlackWidow or Logitech or some form of Gaming keyboard. You can setup a macro to simply spam NUMPAD_0, that being the 0 on your Numpad, in a toggle or long loop. It defaults to all the necessary buttons to spam attempt to log in over and over, ensuring the shortest time possible to attempt your odds of logging in.

As long as you don't get the NA/EU World List not found error, it will do this forever. It allowed me to login to Gilgamesh in about 30 minutes, one of the most populated servers. So odds are if you're on a smaller server, your odds will be even better.


If you don't have a gaming keyboard you can try looking around for a macro recording alternative but I haven't done this since I have a Razer BW Ultimate. I hope this helps some people as we all struggle together.
