Am I supposed to sit here all day clicking a button? ERROR 1017 GAMEPLAY IDEAS

One of the FFXIV managers is probably like:

"So we're hearing reports that the testers er I mean players don't like the gameplay of error 1017"

to which yoshi-p is like

"Oh really tell me more?"

"Yeah it seems like they're getting really frustrated by sitting in front of their computer for hours and clicking Start, Select Character, then clicking OK on the error 1017."

YP: "I don't understand, aren't they just going to sit in front of their computer clicking buttons anyway?"

Manager: "Sir this is a serious problem. It turns out that there are just more flashing lights and whatnot in the actual game"

YP: "I see. You're right. Add some battle effects to the character select screen and a minigame for error 1017"

ANYONE ELSE LIKE THE GAMEPLAY OF ERROR 1017 PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

Its like buying a ticket to a movie and there only being room in the theater for a fraction of the people who bought tickets.

They should have either not sold more tickets than capacity they had, or made enough capacity for all the tickets they sold.

It would have been nice if we had some sort of... I dunno... testing period? Instead of a 3 day "Beta 4" where we saw we had all these problems and SE went "Oh well, lets roll with it. Its fine."
