One Reason you may be getting: "Unable to update Group NA/EU Group." Error 1017

I am not saying this is the only reason, but I believe part of this may be linked to one of the things they are doing to temporarily reduce congestion.

I've tested this several times now and I seem to be able to force this error. When I first log in, I can see the worlds. However, when I try to log in to Excalibur (my Legacy Server), I get the "World full Error".

Last night, I sat and basically spammed it until I got in (which is bad, I know and probably contributes to the connection congestion). However, This morning, after approximately 20 attempts to spam getting in, I would suddenly loose ability to see the servers.

This happens for EXACTLY 10 minutes each time; at which point it goes back to showing me the servers but telling me it's full (Have to Restart the Client). I have so far tried this 5 times in a row.

I just thought I would let other people know.

This method works.

I managed to get on my character screen 3 times in a row.
You just have to be lucky enough to have a spot available in your server or you get an error msg and get kicked out.

There is no Q, either there is space in the server to you get kicked out.
then you try again after 10 mins.

Pretty sad...

I haven't even seen the world list today. At all. So, nice try, but I call BS.

Multiple other people have, including myself. Just because you can't doesn't mean no one else can.

4 times in a row for me, it definitely works... for me at least.

gonna try 1 more time then call it a day.

Once every 10 mins btw.
When i spam it doesn't work at all.

Edit: Forgot to add it doesn't work right away when you log, after you get "unable to NA/EU server..." click the X in the corner and wait 10 mins on the start menu then click "start". Rinse and repeat and hope for luck.

if you get unable to update list you have to completly close ffxiv out it seems, not just click start game again.
Got server list right after shutting down but now the world is full msg pops, this is such bull****.

Got this "server down" thing once, restarted client, waited a few, tried again and was put in a que of 73 people, then I was in. Now we're trying to get my wife in.

you actually got a "que"???? lucky son of b lol

i have been playing this stupid lottery for over an hour. and when i get into the Q and the number goes down I then get the world is full BS. patience ran dry a while ago.
