Alt-tab causes game to crash

So whenever I alt-tab out of the game to check something on my desktop, there's a VERY strong chance when attempt I return to my game, it will crash. It happens about 8 out of every 10 times I alt-tab out. My friend is also having this issue with the game.

I just had it crash yet again about 20 minutes ago when I alt-tabbed, and of course when I try to get back in I'm greeted by error 10102. ._.;

Anyone else having their game crash on them when they alt-tab out?

yeah I get that every now and than.

Only started yesterday for me. I had been tabbing out of the game frequently before that. Now it will crash every time I go back into the game.

The same is happening for me as well, is this something new? I remember alt tabbing out of the game and back in during the other phases of the beta. Its very annoying when you log on and then you want to check something on the forums so you alt tab out then crash the game going back only to be greeted by a 1017 servers full error. :(

Yea ive been getting crashes at random as well event viewer just saiys ffxiv faulted

I came to the forums to report, and/or find reports, of this very issue.

I've been sharing screenshots with friends to entice them to get into the game on Facebook, and I'd estimate a good 90% of the time it will crash whenever I tab out of the game. Whether it's a quickie, or a prolonged tab-out. I've tried tabbing out in towns, the main city, alone in a cave somewhere with my camera in the wall, and still no luck. Every time I try to tab back into the game the music briefly starts back up, then I get an error:

I'm using Windows 7, and I can provide any further details if they're needed/requested.

I haven't run into any other issues with this, but I'd imagine that being on a high pop world with queues would be quite irritating with this issue happening so frequently.

I had an Alt-Tab issue has well, though the game didn't crash.

What happened was doing an Alt-Tab seemed to open up another FFXIV session. It was really weird and not sure what to make of it.
