Ideas, Opinions and Thoughts about FFXIV

Hi there SquareEnix Dev-Team, FF-Players, Complainers and so on..

First of all i hope the families of our Japanese Friends all are fine after the Stuff happened the last weeks. I wish you all the best and hope everything will go the right way for you.

Next... i also have to thank all the FF-Players which are going hand in hand with SE and stand by their side to make the game what we all want it to be. IMO i love this Game allready and im looking forward to the Stuff which will come through Updates to us.

Another Note to all the complaining People out there.. Please stay quiet if you just want to complain. Its not helping... you could help if you will be constructive and say what the game will improve and not what its making it bad at the current state.

And here we go to Topic:

These Idea, Opinions and Thoughts are from a couple FFXIV Players i gathered within the last Months and i guess its a good time to post SOME of them.

There is no Order for Priority tho, i just have to start somewhere. ;)

General Stuff:

1. Stat Points

There is not a real difference between Stats at all. A lot People switched back and forth between STR and DEX and there was not really a difference when they were fighting Stuff. So these Things should be more clear. Like if i go for STR i want to see more DMG, if i go for DEX i want more Crit Hits and so on. There is a difference yeah.. but not like it should be. If i add Acc or Atk i wont to see it on the Dmg i do.. If there is no difference, why would i get better Gear?

Some Thoughts about that:

- Redo the Stat Points in General
- Seperate the Stat Points by Crafting, Combat and Field Classes
- Add something like Merits
- Use the FFXI System
- Improving of Stats on Gear ( its really unbalanced atm )
as in there is always Gear with Elemental Stuff on it, but no Acc, Atk, MAtk, Macc?

2. Battle System

Since SE is on that right now i will wait with Comments to this Point, till we know how the "new" System will look like.

3. Crafting System

The Crafting System is O.K.! A lot People like it, including myself and i wouldnt really change much about it. But still there are some Points which could be improved like the Abilities or the Combination of 2 or more Crafts.

Some Thoughts about that:

- Add Subclasses a way you can see! it.
its to much of guessing about that.. is there really a difference in my Results if i got another Craft leveld? I saw People HQ'ing Stuff without having the mentioned Sub ( on different Fanpages ). So this should be cleared.
- Make Abilties usefull
Some of them dont really have an effect or its that little that you cant realize it.
- SideQuests for Crafter with Guildmarks/Job Specific Gear as Reward.

4. Fieldcrafts

What happend to the Content there? Im not sure really why just half the content have been added yet but its kind of weird. If you go Fish as a FSH50 there is no Fish-Difference from Grade 6 up to 10. There is no difference beside the SP you get.. Those should be more balanced or add more Types of Fish, which could end in different Foods. Speaking of Food.. The Food need adjustments as well. Like 20 Different Types of Foods give the same Stats?... Should be adjusted.

Some Thoughts about that:

- add more different Types of Fish
- More different Results by using different Baits/Lures/Rods

Same goes for Mining and Harvesting. I know there is a lack of Content but i dont understand that part since there exist allready Rank99 Fishes.. also in Recipes which you get as Reward from Leves, but you cant fish them up? Should get cleared.


5. General Thoughts

Wishes/Ideas of added Content:

- Dynamislike Events with Artifact-Armor
- JOB-Specific Gear restricted to the Job in General
- Quests!
- Transportations ( Choco/Airhsip/Ship etc )
- Put more effort into the Look of Abilities and give them different looks ( Only Resize is not the correct way )
- Moghouse or a place for the whole LS.. like a Ship/House/Cave?! Furnitures etc.. yes we love that lol.
- Something like a Linkshell-based Mission.. like the Linkshell can do events together and get "Points" for that and will "Rank up" to obtain "something".. Its just a vague Idea but it sounded nice to me.

Of Course there is a lot more people would LIKE but also there is more people dont like,
but im not going to add everything at the moment. That for we have to wait for the next Updates.

Its all about Ideas, Opinions and Thoughts.. we like and love the Game.. we are not complaining about how Things are at the moment, we are just trying to give some hints about some possible Improvements.

Most of the game is in the process of being reworked. Why do people still feel the need to comment on the current flaws. Stop playing until the updates get here or endure the nostalgia.

It feels like people's memories can only retain the past few official announcements. This is nothing new, we all know this, and so does SE.

The reiteration of negative feedback has already prompted action. If people still feel that SE should keep it's head in the game then by all means keep whining(or w/e you want to call it) or simply stop playing for now.

On the plus side it's, kind of, nice to see more opinions & comments about the game. But these "i wish" lists are a bit annoying as well with there being so many.

the game is doomed if ppl carry on as they are. No matter what SE does add, no one will be happy. People are stuck in the past, stuck in their elitist game ways, and make ffxiv to be ffxi. They want their high level character to be on here to justify their elitism. No one here started playing it as a new game. They all tried making in into ffxi. Proof is how the game was resieved. I was gonna play the game as intended. I was going to level up classes and make my own. I was going to constently group up with ppl and doing guild levels with them. I also was going to start as a fisherwoman and earn money by catching and selling fish to the cooks and goldsmiths who needed them. I was going to just enjoy playing the game as I saw fit. I was also happy the game had a manual attack.

But since ppl wanted a ffxi 2.0 the game has to get changed to meet this demand. Now I'm going to have to play with how I'm told to play. I'm going to have to level up classes I may not wanted to level up.

I'm now going to have tp worry about caring 3-4 gear sets just to change classes. Again all because of everyone wanting an ffxi 2.0. Most will deny it but proof is what your demanding. Defined classes, class and rank restrictions, auto attack and other stuff from ffxi. They want the game to be "hardcore". Sorry but "hardcore" mmo are not for everyone and that limits those who can play. MMo shouldn't limit potential players.

Im going to play ffxiv at least for the ps3 regardless, but I'm going to be dissapointed i can do what I had plan. Which also happen with ffxi. I had a character style I liked and I got forced to change it, no matter how good I was.

Don't let elitist ruin another mmo. This is getting stupid.

People still assume that this is FFXI 2.0 or want it to be at least, like Kita said.

Well i always said its a different game, only some Stuff like Races look similiar and i dont think that those Things will make it into FFXI 2.0. But there is also some Stuff which were really awesome in FFXI, so why not use it also in FFXIV? Like the Stat-System.. a very complex System which was one of the best Systems out of a lot MMO's. Why bring a new System where also SE said, this System doesnt work out like we want to? At that Point you can say "Back to the Roots and lets use Stuff which worked out great".. Afterwards you can change certain Points of it and you will get an unique System.

It wont make it FFXI 2.0. Its an improvement with basics used of a pre-MMO SE built. Everyone want Chocobo's but noone is saying "Oh dang you make it FFVII 2.0 or FFIX 2.0 cause of that", because Chocos were used in almost every, if not in all FF's. There were Moogles in a lot of FF-Titles, Cid was in a lot FF-Titles, Summons, Elementals, Enemies, Spells, Abilities, even Jobnames were similiar. FF XIV is the 14th Part of the Final Fantasy Main Saga ( Not speaking of Remakes or Outtakes like FFX-2, Dissidia etc ). This is a game by itself and will be in the future, no matter what SE will add. There is no Point in saying "You make it into 2.0" just because SE is adding Stuff which was in Pre-FF's. It will just take Part in the Series.

Im an Elitist... does that make me a bad Player or something?

I played every Final Fantasy because i love the Series, i like to explore, do Quests, do Activities with my Mates, SP'ing together, Find out Secrets and so on.. is this a bad thing to do? I wouldnt mind if SE is adding a PvE Event and make it similiar to Dynamis, Limbus or Einherjar. Even if they make a totally new one, there will be ALWAYS looking similiar to something else. Speaking of "Materia Crafting System".. There was a Materia System, but im not going to say "Hey this is FFVII 2.0 because of it". I will look forward to it and be happy that SE is careing about the Community and want to make a great Game.

And by the way.. FFXIV is allready in a better state than FFXI was after 7 Month.

Like i said before, i dont complain about anything.. just giving out what SE WAS ASKING FOR: Feedback!

IF SE wants to add FFXI Stuff like Auto-Attack, Class and Rank-restrictions i will totally back up SE. Not because im a Former FFXI Core Gamer, i will back them up because those things are elementary things which are not bad.

Speaking of "Hardcore"... Yes those Games are not for everyone. That is one reason why i loved FFXI. Not 2.5 Mils of dumb asses running around like in WoW. Im not talking about beeing online 24/7, im more talking about the Grade of difficulty the Game should be. Hard long quest Series? I'm Game... Awesome PvE Content where you need skilled People? I'm Game too... Relic Weapons and the need of dozens of Items, Millions of Gil, and Loads off Time to obtain? I'm even more Game...

Why? because that is the way a FF-Title should be. This is FFXIV, not FFXI 2.0 and for sure i dont want it to be an easy game like WoW!

That are my personal Thoughts so.. if SE is going another Way it wont make me whine about it like most people do at the moment. I will still play FFXIV and back up SE for effort they put into this Game.

So.. thats it for now.. Noone should take this as a personal attack. Just accept that are other Opinions out there beside your own. ;)
