I never realized how flawed this system was until recently, because I haven't been able to play as much lately. Currently, the only way to get Faction points (to do Faction NMs) is to do levequests.
While the incentive to do leves is there, its simply not enough getting at most 6 or 7 points from each leve.
A Signet system like Conquest in FFXI would be a great addition to boosting the amount of points able to to received.
please! it takes FOREVER to get 400 faction points for items that arent even guaranteed to drop. Maybe they could have a faction point reward for Behest.
1.You can get way more than 6-7 points in general.
2.Yea a signet system wouldn't be that bad. It would at the same time encourage grinding on regular mobs. I don't really want it from behests considering how behests has a max size.. It already sucks if the party is full and you can't get in..
I find things that take a lot of work and are slow to acquire are far more rewarding....
So I don't mind the current system
Also because the drops are random, it requires more cooperative play or even trading to get a full set
there are a couple mages in my LS with a full harlequin set.... a few with Buccaneer's set and some scattered templar Pieces (I need the sollerets)
Also, if there were some other way to get faction credits.... or if faction items were alot easier to get, then people would never "complete" guildleves, they'd just fail the best 8 every reset, so having an incentive to succeed is nice....
Right now if you go to all 3 cities and grab just "Brotherhood of the Broken Blade" quests..... You could get around 100 faction per reset, thats 400 a week
Lastly, if it was easy to get, then you'd feel a lot less pride from wearing your ultra leet "templar's Chain Coif"

I've always thought the faction leve costs should just be reduced. 100,200,300...... It is way too much. No one barely even does the normal Faction leves because of the costs. The Non-NM faction leves should be more like 30 for R20, 60 for R30, and 90 for R40. Then NM leves should stay at 100 for phase 1 and 2, then 250 for phase 3 (Horn and hand is already 250)
