Redeeming collecor's edition bonus code

I was lucky enough to receive my boxed CE package in the post yesterday, but I can't seem to redeem the 12 digit code that gives us the bonus items on the PSN. When I try I get a 'code incorrect or no longer valid' message. Anyone else have this issue? I know we don't physically get the items in-game until the 27th, but I thought we could redeem the codes before that? Could it be that I just need to wait until the 27th to redeem the code, or have I maybe been sent a dud code?

Sorry if this is a bad place for this question, but I can't post a thread over on general because my char's level is apparently too low.
