Parties or guilds

I'm new to the final fantasy RPG and virtually kind of new to MMOs in general, i played GW2 and runescape 2 and 3 and a few other RPGs like rappelz but none of them really stuck with me, probably because i came into the games so late that i felt left out. FF14 is the first MMO i picked up right at the start and i'm trying to be a major player or at least somewhere in the top notch of the game (outside of legacy of course lol). so i was hoping there would be a few guilds or parties out there aspiring to do the same and i would love to be able to meet up and join with a few people early on so later on in the game i can feel like im actually apart of the community and not just a noob trying to move in to unspoken lands. so if anyone has the same thoughts or feelings that would be great to get to talk to anyone or just talk in general. the game is fun and exciting and i think it would be even greater if you got to talk and interact with people.
