It's the point!
So, this is early access? This really seems like the kind of thing that happens in beta testing, does it not?
SE was so confident in their game because it didn't break in 3 days of beta testing that they flung the game out to us in a broken state. Could this not have been avoided by a longer beta session. Maybe, maybe not. The point is, we'll never know because they didn't give the product a proper final beta test of a week or more like they should have. Shame on you SE!
How do you make up for an early access promise that falls through. I really don't think you can. And, that's the POINT!!!
This is nothing new with SE and again, that's the POINT here. When will they start thinking about us and stop saying
"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
Well, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that we are all out of patience and we totally do not UNDERSTAND this stuff any more!
Please wake up SE and care about the people who pay your bills, would you?
EDIT 1:
Please don't get me wrong. I love the game and I truly appreciate what the producer and dev team have done in the last two years. I as a retired developer, do understand the pressure they are under as well. However, that being said, one thing I learned early on in my career was to stop cutting corners no matter what. In the end it would cost my employer/client and in the end, myself. Do it right, don't be to over confident and think about who your product is really for. Take some pride in doing EVERYTHING right, including proper testing. I personally think 3 day sessions are a bit short, especially for a final test. I think what's happening is proving THE POINT.
We still love you SE so don't take this to hard, lol.

BURN EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, this is nothing new, yet you're surprised by the results? Hmmm...interesting!
-
how many MMOs do you know who didn't have problems when they launched?
-
technically they did break the beta within the 3 days, these same server errors first showed their ugly faces in phase4 beta an ruined last weekend for many people
-
Rule #1 for early access/launch day in every MMO : expect server downs
Every MMO has problems at launch day, not only FF 14.

I don't know what you expect them to do, take time out before they fix the issue to explain what the issue is therefor prolonging the fix or put what was wrong after when no one cares cause they will log in and play. The servers are overloaded they are taking the smart measure and trying to keep them stable and hopefully slowly add them instead of of adding about double what they have thinning out the population quickly then when a huge chunk leave after the free month (it will happen, always does) have some servers barren. Least they are trying to keep them stable and fix the issues before the game even launches.
