I finished the airship quest, but don't have the wind up airship minion? I am currently as far as the copperbell mines.. shouldnt I have been given the minion?

Have you checked your items first?
If I recall rightly you should have got a item which you use and then you can summon it under the minion sub menu.

just a quick question: what's the airship quest called? I think I've done all my quests up to 15, and I didn't see it.
Envoy quest. It's main story quest
