NA/EU and JP Serverclusters - technical differences? NOT a bashing thread!

Hello guys from SE,

im really curious as to why the NA/EU Servers seem to be hit far more serious by the obvious problems than the JP ones are. I am obviously referring to the instance problems and the 90000 errors. The 90000 errors could be explained with differences in NA/EU and JP userprofiles. But the instance server problems can not.

Is it:
1. The JP clusters are dimensioned in a more generous way?
2. The JP Players behaving differently (i.e. not overloading the instance server)?
3. The SE Team performing updates for the JP community in another way (silent, only partial)?
4. Other versions of the serversided software?

I am really curious as to if there is a technical side of this. And if so, which it is.

I'm actually very curious as well why every thing appears to be fine with the Japanese.
An answer would be appreciated.

I have a few questions as well.

-Are the Japanese and NA/EU using the same type of servers?

-Was this problem also on the Japanese servers?

-If not how did this happen if yes why did it got fixed there and not here?

Well think about it, Square-Enix HQ is located in Japan so it's easier to sort any problems as the JP Data Centres are right there, where-as US and EU are further round the world which makes it a bit more difficult to rectify any issues.

Probably a hardware problem or bandwidth issue. Judging by the number of posts in JP forums to the posts in english forums (Not an exact science), we have a hair more than twice the players but we still have the same number of servers and probably the same bandwidth and physical servers. A mirrored setup is common when farms are in different physical locations. If you read the maintenance notice you'll see a disturbing line that reads

which to me sounds like they will be doing further throttling of the number of players that can play.

There is a slight possibility that it's software but except for language it should be pretty much the same software.
