Yep. They are currently down from 3:00 - 5:30 your time. They made that announcement about 30 minutes before they took the servers down

This is always you should not put a server in a unknown. 99% of all major games run out of major US city data centers, not some random data center in canada.

We shouldn't have to look on the lodestone to find out that the servers are down though. I looked in the Maintenance section because I couldn't log on and nothing is there. Why have a section in the forums if they aren't going to actually post in it?

The status section of the forum is for current server status, stuff like errors, emergency downtimes etc. I'm guessing the maintenance section is for pre-announced downtimes.
