Collector's Edition

I apologize if there is already a thread about this but I cannot seem to find it. I am an FFXIV 1.0 owner. I played in the Beta 4 and have since used that character in the early access. My concern is with the different things I have been hearing about the CE. I purchased the digital download CE for 49.99 +tax USD. I was told by some that I will not be able to get the pre order items on my current account because I should have upgraded my current account rather than purchased the CE edition outright. I was also told that the upgrade would have been substantially cheaper than the full price I payed for CE. Others, however, have said that on release date I will receive the pre-order CE items along with the Mog cap and other items. Could someone clarify If I will receive the pre-order items for CE on my current account. I would hate to think I spent that much money and not be able to use my legacy server or Beta character due to having to be on a new account.

yes the upgrade would have be a lot cheaper then buying the game. please look at this like it will show you that if you own 1.0 you can get the Collector's Edition Digital Upgrade** for $19.99 http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/ ( this will be open after launch), but if you want to play on ps3 then you will need to buy the game.


** The Collector's Edition digital upgrade offers customers the ability to upgrade their standard FFXIV account to digital Collector's Edition status via the “FFXIV Service Center” website that is scheduled to be opened at the launch of official service, which then grants the in-game bonus items included with the Collector's Edition. So then will I still get the pre order bonus items? I understand I overpayed for the CE due to not waiting until release and upgrade but my main reason to buy CE was for the items. Will I still get them?

yes if you pre-orderd then yes your get the pre-orderd items as well as the all the goodies, both the physical and the digital, just link the codes to your account

edit: some people wanted the physical items so they bought it over again, your not alone.. ( i my self got the CE for ps3)
