Another egg gone

I have done this leve quest twice now and both times I have done this my carbuncle keeps attacking it once pacified, so I do the obvious thing and use steady to keep it from attacking, and move onto the next mob however, when I kill the 2nd mob my carby runs over to the one i have previously pacified and starts to attack it again.
