Every time I try to log in to the client, I get the following error message:

Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][20457][404]

What's the deal?

Im having the same issue, ive tried re-installing and i keep getting Unable to complete version check [30605][10009][19900][12029]

Well, God forbid we be able to play the game we've paid for.

i actually just fixed it, i turned off my firewall and then started up final fantasy and it updated, hopefully this works for you 2!

I'm having the same issue too. but was playing fine just yesterday. Tried turning off the firewall, running as administrator.. nothing works.

There are several things you could try...
1) Disable antivirus/antimalware/browser security addons... BullGuard and ZoneAlarm in particular is causing issues...
2) Change what DNS servers your computer use to use Google's ones or OpenDNS... Google for information...
3) Check if you connect through a proxy server and disable use of proxy if necessary
4) Restore IE settings to default

5) Disable things like NetLimiter or download managers if you have any running...
