Each class has 3-4 types of basic attacks. For example, gladiator has light stab, heavy stab, light slash, and heavy slash. Just having auto attack default on light stab would take out the purpose of the others. I propose to have the ability to toggle on the type of basic attack you want for every battle by simply clicking on it once per battle. This will satisfy people who do not want auto attack because they think it makes people lazy. Like if you pick light stab, your character will do light stab for the duration of the battle. It doesn't mean set it and forget it, it means set it and focus on doing your other abilities.
In the case of archer, with people using multishot at the beginning of every shot, auto attack is still possible since you are setting multishot first before toggling auto attack for light shot on. For the second set of multishot during battle, clicking on multishot should automatically toggle off light shot.
I'm sure the developers already have this in mind or similar to it.

While this seems like the obvious solution and also a quick one, I can't help but feel that this is not what they are planning to do. They have spent a lot of time developing the new battle system and it is so big they said they will be rolling it out over 2 months. A solution like this would surely not need such a long time to develop and implement would it?
