High rank equipment..

..whats supposed to stop me wearing it from rank 1?
i've heard that its not as effective? but what dose that mean?
(i genuinely would like to know ^^)

1: higher rank equipment loses durability much faster than equipment with a rank similar to yours or lower. Also, of course, it requires an higher ranked crafter to repair (which means you may find yourself looking for someone that repairs it for a longer time), and costs more to repair at the NPC
2: higher rank gear scales down with level, but it doesn't scale down with perfect efficence. This means that if you're at rank 27 and wear a rank 27 armor, it will give you better stats than a rank 50 armor. The rank 50 armor will still be viable, but not as good as the one comparable to your level.

From what I know

1. Durability decreases at a much faster rate requiring you to repair constantly.
2. You don't gain the full stats of higher level equipment, it is actually slightly decreased compared to wearing same rank equipment.

I really like being able to wear high rank gear at lower ranks, for many reasons:
- Test the look of an armour to buy matching parts (be ready when the time comes!)
- Take screenshots (ah! memories or simply silly things!)
- Don't go naked when briefly switching class
- For roleplaying characters and story (in combination with screenshots, it's simply wonderful)
- Copy a friend and joke around as if we are twins, lots of fun!
- etc. Fun!
