Understanding things such as FreeCompanies etc

Hi guys! Firstly want to apologize if this is a double post or anything, I had a scan but couldn't find anything except people telling players to check the manual on the launcher, unfortunately that doesn't explain what I want to know.

Basically, I'm relatively new to FFXIV Only managed B3+4 so I don't quite understand what Companies are and how the armory bonus works, cause in p4 it said I had the bonus but nothing seemed affected. Is there anywhere I can read up about this, like a wiki or any kind fellow adventures willing to take 5mins to explain these to me please?

The old previous beta forum has all the updates and information on those new systems try checking there. I saw a link to the old forum somewhere on this forum i think.

Last time I checked the Beta Forum had been shut down, I'll try get another link though. But I'm sure it got shutdown on the 22nd.

They'll probably have the lodestone info up when early access kicks in.
For Grand Companies vs Free Companies vs Linkshells.

Linkshell = persistent chat channel (you can have up to 8)
Grand Companes = NPC/Storyline related/filler content (can only join 1 of the 3 nations)
Free Companies = player run 'guild' (can be in 1 - Grand Company independant)

Thanks for the info Leknaat! That gives me a much better idea of what they are, the rest I should be able to manage to wait for until Lodestones up! :)
