I downloaded the initial update in separate stages due to limitations with my internet package; when I cancelled the download, it would pick up where it left off when I resumed it.
I started the download for the latest version update and half way through was disconnected from the PlayStation Network. Upon logging back in, the client forced me to start the update from scratch.
