Multiple Authorizations on my Credit Card

Okay, I tried to pre-order the game, only to get the dreaded "Payment Authorization Failed" message. I tried a few more times throughout the day, as per advice on the forums, to no avail.

Now as I'm working the overnight shift at my job, I check my bank account and find that there's 4(!) authorizations, all for $0, on my account. I haven't received a single email from SE or Digital River.

I'm hoping this is nothing, but those authorizations have me really nervous. I simply cannot afford 4 copies of the game.

You should contact the bank.

Sadly neither SE nor your bank will be able to do anything until the transactions fall off or complete.

i have no idea who would tell you to try and redo a payment multiple times like that.

Well normally if you see something like that, it usually means the information was entered incorrectly or there's a technical issue on their end. Usually, that's where that part ends, you simply re-input the information, making sure its right (I audit a local hotel, so running credit cards is a big part of my job)
