unanswered question dated gear!

just wondering if anyone has any information on dated gear do we just bin it now? in 1.0 it was actually worth something with great stats now im stuck with it and its worthless or is it a case of throw it away.

The rule of thumb I've followed is if it offers no crafting/battle stat bonuses anymore, I bin it. Otherwise, I hang onto it until I'm sure of a better alternative.

I dunno, possibly keep for vanity slots?
I made a ton of pink gear before 1.0 died... Before we knew they'd let us dye anything every color. I'll end up NPCing a lot of it, I'm sure.

At least at the end of 1.0, the dated gear had stats. Some of it was actually still quite functional.
Getting the spiritbond up now will suck, as everything has lower defense and zero stats.

Neasa has the right of it. They kept the Dated items around, not for stats. Some of the colors and looks cannot be obtained in ARR.

Black Pearl Earrings transferred over to ARR as Black Pearl Earrings. I know, because I have a pair. DATED Black Pearl Earrings are not the same thing. If it says Dated, it became Dated long before 1.0 ended.

This is a really good point... But unfortunately I have to make room as I have a stockpile of mats I'll need for crafting. I wish I had the luxury! Cool for the people that do. =]

1.0 dated gear was always trash, very rarely was there a benefit. Only gear I kept that was dated was a few crafting peices, and Dated Iron Gauntlets/Sabotons just because I could equip those on every class and it looked cool. Pretty much everything dwarfed it otherwise.

I can't part with my dated black velveteen kecks and red tabard. . .I remember when I made my first red tabard, I was so proud! Plus the color is <3 @_@ haha

As to answer OP's question (and as others have already said), it's good for vanity slots and naught much else. So save it or toss it, it's up to you~

Its been answered AGES AGO.

Dated gear now will still there (In ARR), SO you can turn it into materia.

Nothing more.

Turn it into materia !

Wolf Camp Natalan, 5 sets of gear to Spiritbond, dated gear for armour, coral rings and bracelet etc. Best way to make gil and material. Dated gear never had any benefits other than this to my knowledge it was extremely cheap junk.
