If I use an EU pre access code what does that do to me if I'm NA?

My code I just purchased FFXIV from the Square Enix Store and was given a code that started with RAAU. I used this to register to my account. It went successful and once I log into the client I see the Play button that isn't highlighted and it tells me to wait till early access to start.

I just read somewhere that my code was an EU one. Does this negatively effect me?

No, any code that starts RAAU is NA, RAAE is EU. Also, you're not allowed to redeem an EU code on NA account. It gives you that message because the Early Access hasn't started yet.
