[SUGGESTION] Codex
I know this is definitely not a priority and not necessary, but how awesome would a codex be in FFXIV? A sort of encyclopedia in-game that has important terms and lore information defined.
Final Fantasy XIII did this, as do games such as Mass Effect, Xenosaga, and Dragon Age.
There are some terms tossed around in FFXIV that I have no clue what they mean/are or I forgot because the cutscene that defined it was so long ago!
A codex would help us keep track of the story and lore!
Just a suggestion :)

Codex's, Notebook's, Logging book's, NPCs, as long as it's something anything would do. I've jotting down notes in a scraps of paper up til now, and I've got to say it not bad at times but it could be better much better. and like you said it's definitely not a priority right now .... SE Devs probably knows but they've probably to be overloaded with work.
(*Oh a good note about Lore, ever went to Gridania >Conjurer Guild there's a book on a table next to two npcs, that book definitely has lore; confusing at times but good Lore, can't remember The Title but it would fit perfectly in the Corex thing. The Lore reads about the Moons and the Gods of Eorzea, have you ever read that? it's great indeed* :) )

Not a priority, but something to add in the future maybe. The only potential problem I see is that the writers would have to spend a ton of time coming up with background lore for the codex--FFXII and Dragon Age have about the ideal codices in my book and they look like they took ages to write. This time would almost always be better spent writing content for things in the actual game, like quests, characters or dialogue. Maybe if the game takes off SE can commission a few freelancers to research and write up a codex while their main guys continue to work on more relevant content.
