Question about using a Copyrighted name

I saw on Reddit today that this appeared in the terms, but I didn't know this prior to creating my character during open beta. I used a character name from Final Fantasy XI, Ajido Marujido. I'd really prefer not to delete and remake the character with a different name, is SE really going to enforce this part very strictly? If so, is there anything I can do to get my character name changed now? If I'm going to have to change it, I'd prefer it to happen now than after 4-6 months from now when I have friends on the server who know me by my existing name.

Any thoughts?

If they do enforce it strictly then like 30-40% of players would either get banned or forced to rename.. :\

Personally, I can name several players on Cactuar that would lose their names if they get forced to change it.. Including someone named Final Fantasy.. xD

Banning seems kind of harsh, I would assume they'd just force a name change. It'd be nice to get a response from Square on the issue and how they plan to handle it and what players can do/expect.

Probably just there to cover their ass. Doubt it'll be enforced.

I don't think they would ban anyone unless they asked you to rename your character and refused.

Probably a forced change of name when EA comes around. There are people in beta (P4 to be specific) that had FF theme names, just modified.

Typically name changes are only forced if a name is reported or happens to come across their desk for some reason.

It's common stipulation for most MMO's and they do enforce it, but only if the name is noticed (e.g. reported or you run past a GM whos in the area and notices it).

But as others have said you just get given a forced name change. Unless you repeatedly do it then it will escalated to more serious matters.

Try changing a single letter of the name. They cant have any offense to that.

Someone I know named their character Black People and they wound up in GM jail. Once they changed their char name they let them out.

Btw their new char is named "White People"
